The Lions kept up the pressure on relegation-threatened Rotherham with a convincing 3-0 win at The Den. Ryan Longman gave them the lead after 27 minutes before Zian Flemming doubled it before half time.
Fred Onyedinma thought he had made inroads into the deficit but his low strike was disallowed for offside, leaving no way for visitors to mount an effective comeback attempt; Bradshaw completed victory late into injury time.
First-half
Rowett’s side started fast against one of the Championship’s bottom four sides and quickly established control. They spent much of the first 15 minutes camped inside Rotherham territory without finding an effective pass to test goalkeeper Viktor Johansson of Rotherham.
Rotherham managed their first shot on target after 27 minutes, which was expertly saved by Johansson. Bart Bialkowski then denied Jordan Hugill from following up as Rotherham found it hard to break through their stubborn opponents.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy delivered a dangerous ball into the box but only found former Millwall striker Fred Onyedinma who headed wide. Zian Flemming then sent a cross towards Kevin Nisbet who managed only a weak header which hit Johansson instead of finding an opening in front of goal. As time ticked away and pressure mounted on Rowett he introduced two second half substitutes: Hakeem Odoffin and Andre Green to try and rejuvenate his side.
Second-half
The Millers arrived at The Den with great expectations this season but after suffering two defeats and a draw in their opening four Championship outings they have fallen to 21st position – no surprise when considering that they average 2.2 goals against per game while only managing to score an average of 1.2 themselves.
Early in the second period, the visitors started slowly but nearly paid the price when Brooke Norton-Cuffy played an unsafe ball into Fred Onyedinma inside the box but his shot sailed wide of its target.

Gary Rowett quickly restored order as Longman scored Millwall’s opening goal from 25 yards, giving them control. Zian Flemming ended his 2023/24 goal drought late on before Tom Bradshaw made it three to secure victory in SE16 and ease the pressure off Gary Rowett as he continues his search for an effective winning formula in Bermondsey.
Third-half
Ryan Longman gave the Lions an early advantage with a right-footed strike from outside of the area in the first minute of the second period, giving them an early lead. Former Millwall winger Fred Onyedinma appeared to have equalised three minutes later with an attempted low curler, only for an offside flag to go up shortly thereafter.
Gary Rowett made one change to his starting XI at The Den, recalling Zian Flemming for Billy Mitchell and starting Casper De Norre, Murray Wallace, Norton-Cuffy and Campbell alongside Joe Bryan on the bench.
Millwall were dominant throughout the first half, but their only clear-cut opportunity came from a corner when Longman’s delivery was met by Christian Tiehi’s powerful header which Bartosz Bialkowski had to deflect away. Andre Green came close to scoring soon afterwards but his effort hit the post before Tom Bradshaw sealed victory for Millwall with his low shot from just inside the box in injury time.

Final score
Rotherham arrived at The Den looking for an important victory to ease their relegation fears, with tensions further raised by some home supporters trying to reach Millers fans at the front of the stand by ripping down netting – leading stewards to pull them in, which led to further tension before eventually being brought under control by police using truncheons.
The Lions started strong against their hosts with Ryan Longman scoring an outstanding first-half strike from 25 yards. Following halftime, Casper De Norre forced Johansson into making a save while Tom Bradshaw narrowly missed scoring when his header went wide.
The visitors struggled to pose any threat on their travels and Matt Taylor must find a way to reverse his side’s four defeats from five league matches in order to stave off relegation.
