Makkah Mukarrama is the most important sanctuary in the world because of how good and holy it is. Muslims all over the world admire and respect the city for its many good qualities. The first reason why Makkah is holy is because it is where the Last Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad, was born. Makkah is where he was born, and he loves it very much. When the non-believers forced Prophet Muhammad SAWW to move from Makkah to Madinah, he was not at all happy to leave his birth city. Muslims love their Prophet Muhammad SAWW, so the city has a special place in their hearts. Since he SAWW loved his city, it is thought that Emaan should also love his city. As he was getting ready to leave the city, he turned toward Makkah and said, “O my beloved city Makkah! I loved you so much, but because of your people, I can’t live here in peace.”
The second thing is that Hajj and Umrah are done in Makkah. Hajj is one of the five most important parts of Islam. Hajj is a religious obligation that has to be done once in a person’s life. The Day of Judgment will be very bad for anyone who doesn’t do Hajj, even if they had a good reason. The Holy Quran makes it clear what will happen to people who don’t go on Hajj: “The one from you who is not limited by a cruel ruler, an illness, or a financial problem should not go on Hajj, whether he dies as a Christian or a Jew (Allah doesn’t care).”
The Kabah Shareef in Makkah is also the most holy place. Kabah is the most important place in the world for Muslims, and every Muslim wants to go there at least once in his life. The Kabah is a cube-shaped building in the middle of Makkah’s Masjid Al Haram. Prophet Ibrahim AS was the first person to build the Kabah. His son, Prophet Ismael AS, then built it because his Lord told him to. After that, it is built up again and again. Allah Almighty said, “When Ibrahim and Ismael were building the foundations of the house (the Holy Kabah), they prayed, “Our Lord, accept this from us, for you are the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”
Many times more good comes from praying in the Masjid Al Haram than from prayers and supplications made in any other mosque. The reason is that the Holy prophet SAWW used to pray in the mosque. Holy Prophet SAWW said this about the Masjid Al Haram: “The prayer in my mosque (Masjid ul Nabwi SAWW in Madinah) is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except for the Masjid al Haram (in Makkah), where the prayer is 100,000 times better.”
The hadith makes it clear that praying in Masjid Al Haram is better than praying in Masjid Ul Nabwi SAWW. This mosque adds to the good things about the holy city of Makkah.
Allah Almighty has given the city the honour that every good deed done in Makkah increases the reward for that good deed. In Surah Al-Hajj, Allah Almighty said, “Whoever tends to do bad things or wrong things there (in the area of Haram Shareef), we will make him suffer a painful punishment.” presence
The verse shows that because Makkah is a holy city, both good and bad things happen more often there. If someone does something bad in the Holy City, they will also be punished and have to face Allah Almighty’s anger on the Day of Judgment.
The first five verses of Surah Alaq, which is the first part of the Holy Quran, came down to Holy Prophet SAWW in Cave Hira, which is in the city of Makkah. In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty said, “This is why We gave you (Muhammad) a Quran in Arabic, so you can probably warn the Mother of the Towns and everyone around it.”
All Muslims around the world pray facing the direction of Makkah. This is called the Qibla, and it is the direction that Muslims face when they pray. When Muslims pray, they have to pray with their backs to the Makkah. Allah said, “Turn your face toward Masjid Al-Haram wherever you go to pray.”
In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty swears by the name of the city. This means that the city doesn’t need any more proof of how great and holy it is.
“Allah, may He SWT be exalted, swears by it when he says, “I swear by this city (Makkah)”
Allah Almighty loves his Last Prophet Muhammad SAWW more than any other person who has ever lived. Allah Almighty swears in the name of Makkah because that is where the Holy prophet SAWW was born. This shows how much he loves and respects his prophet. It’s important to remember that Makkah, by itself, is not more important or better than other cities. The fact that the Holy Prophet SAWW was born there, the presence of Kabah Shareef and Masjid Al Haram, and the performance of other Islamic rituals, especially Hajj and Umrah, are what make this city so holy and important.
