What is site visibility and how it is calculated in SE Ranking?
The visibility of a website is how often it comes up in search engines when people type in certain keywords. In other words, a site’s search engine visibility shows how many people will see it when they use a certain search query.
You can find out how visible a site is on Google, Yahoo, Bing, and even YouTube by using SE Ranking.
For example, you have a project on our SEO platform and have added keywords to it so that you can track how the site is doing. The site is in the top three for requests, and the rest are in the top ten or lower. We give each request a different number of points based on where it comes in the search results. This is done with a special algorithm.
The score depends on how high up in the search results the result is. We also consider how often the request is made. As the number of times a word is used, the score goes up.
All of the points you get are put into a special formula that figures out how visible your site is in Google or another PS you have added. Here’s what it looks like:

Correction coefficients are chosen based on the location of the site being requested:
1, 2, 3 positions: K=1;
K = 0.85, 4th place;
K = 0.60 for 5th place; K = 0.50 for 6th place; K = 0.30 for 8th place; K = 0.2 for 10th place; K = 0 for 11th place and beyond.

How words and groups of words are looked at
You can track the visibility of both the site as a whole and the visibility of individual searches or groups of keywords. So, you can find out what percentage of natural searches for certain keywords lead to visits to your site. The visibility of the keys can be checked in all of the search engines that were added to the project, just like the visibility of the site.
The same formula is used to find out how visible a group of keywords is as a whole as it is for the site as a whole. But there is a simple answer to one question:

The formula’s values haven’t changed: V is the site’s visibility and K is the position correction factor.
Why should you keep track of who visits your website?
Checking to see how visible a site is can help with:
- Look at how popular your site is and how popular your main competitors are for certain keywords. So, you can compare where you are to where your direct competitors are and adjust your strategy accordingly.
- Make a list of the people who are the most well-known in your niche. This information will help you figure out how likely it is for you to get to the top and what makes the best online promotion players in your niche stand out.
- Look at detailed analytics about where your site ranks to find out what the real result of the promotion was. This is needed to figure out how positions change and how they affect how visible a site is in Google or any other tracked search engine. PS. Let’s look at what the last task looks like. Let’s say that the positions of 10 keywords on your site went up by 15 points and the positions of 5 keywords went down by 2 points. Analysis of how well a website does in SE Ranking
To find out how popular a site is, you need to make a project, upload the keywords you want to track, and choose the search engines you want to use. After that, SE Ranking will show you your visibility in three different ways.
- You can see all of the sites in your account. Each site’s visibility is set individually, but it’s important to remember that the result in the “Projects” section of the main dashboard takes into account all the search engines you chose. For example, if you check search positions on both Google and Bing, the system figures out the total visibility for both search engines, not just for Google. This graph shows a pretty general count that isn’t good for a precise look at how visibility changes over time.
- The site’s visibility can be split between search engines and regions. The “golden mean” for most people who use SE Ranking is to check how each site shows up in search engines. In the “Positions” module, the chart is in the “Detailed” section. The graph shows how the chosen search engine’s visibility changes over time.
You can see data for other monitored search engines and regions by choosing the SE you want from the list. Or, you can switch to a mode that lets you see data by positions for all search engines at once. If you do that, graphs and tables of data for all PS will be shown one after the other on the same page.
In the “General” section of the “Positions” module, you can look at a graph that shows how the visibility of all PS added to the project changes over time.
- How easy it is to see each key and each set of keys. In the “Detailed” section of the “Positions” module, you can also see information about how visible each keyword or group of keywords is, if you have put your queries into groups. To do this, choose the right option using the “Columns” filter. For the chosen search engine in the given area, the information will be given.
To see data for other monitored search engines and regions, choose the SE you want from the list or the option to see data for all SEs at once.
- How easy it is to find competitors’ sites. The graph is in the section called “Competitors.” You can add all of the competitors you care about to the evaluation and keep track of how things are changing overall.
