Apple has been churning out new and improved smartphones every single year. Their mobile phones are so good that even if you buy a used iPhone, you won’t be disappointed at all. Believe me, because I currently own a used iPhone 12 Pro😅. Their latest iteration of this lineup is the new iPhone 14, which has taken the world by storm. My particular variant that has been in very high demand is the Pro version. However, many of my friends ask me if they should buy iPhone 14 Pro rather than the Pro Max version.

This point has become a very hot topic because many people believe that even the base models of an iPhone are so good that you won’t need to go any higher. However, there are a few differences between them that sets them apart. That’s why I’ll be going over a few of them so you can make a decision to buy the 14 Pro variant or not.

With that said, let’s start by discussing a few of the differences between them.

Since this lineup of iPhones is relatively new, many people can’t decide which variant they should go for. If I talk from my perspective, there are two ways to go with the iPhone 14 lineup. The first is that you stay in the base model, or you can go with the Pro models.

Unlike the previous iterations, there is some difference between the 2 factions specification-wise. However, today were not here to discuss the base models. Each of the Pro models, be it the new iPhone 14 Pro Max or the last year’s iPhone 13 Pro Max, always creates a lasting impact on the user but what about the simple pro versions?

Since I’m using a Pro version of the iPhone 12 lineup, I can say that these types of variants have always been good. There are a few things where the Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone 14 lineup of phones vary, which can sway your decision to buy the phone. Many tech lovers might’ve seen them at first glance, but for those who don’t know about them, here are those differences.

1. Size

The first and foremost difference between these phones is their size. The screen on the Pro Max version of the iPhone 14 is bigger than the Pro version. The display size of the 14 Pro is 6.1 inches (which is quite reasonable), and the Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch display.

The choice of which display size you want to go for depends on whether or not you like big phones. To be honest, I’m not a fan of how big the Pro Max variants are. Don’t get me wrong, they are great, and all, but I’ve always used a smartphone with a display size of at most 6.1 inches.

However, there are many others out there who like massive screen phones because it provides a much more immersive experience than the smaller-sized screen, but I’m not a fan of that. So, if I want to buy iPhone 14 Pro, size isn’t a factor that matters to me.

2. Battery Capacity

Now, this is an important aspect of the phone that you won’t want to go wrong with. Since I’m using a used iPhone 12 Pro after using a phone like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, which has a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh, the battery difference is visible.

The battery capacity of the phone must be at least in the 4,000 mAh range to be considered usable these days. The battery capacity of the Pro version is 3200 mAh, while the Pro Max version comes with a 4,323 mAh battery. There is a stark difference between the battery capacities, and common sense dictates that you should go for the Pro Max version.

However, over the past few years, I’ve noticed that Apple has improved the overall performance of the phone. This, in turn, prolongs the battery usage time of the phone. My friend bought a new iPhone 13 Pro, and on a full charge, he didn’t need to plug it into the wall the entire day.

So, if you’re planning to be dissuaded to buy iPhone 14 Pro just because of the battery, put your mind at ease that even though at such a capacity, you get plenty of juice to work with.

3. Price

Now, this is the point where most of you will agree to go with the Pro version of the iPhone 14 lineup. Since the Pro is a lower variant of the Pro Max, the price of the phone will also be lower than expected.

The price of an iPhone in Pakistan is really high, so buying one in brand-new condition is a bit challenging for most people. That’s why most people go for a used iPhone or a lower variant.
