Rice students major in everything from kinesiology to political science; regardless of their field of study, all benefit from Rice’s close-knit community and unfailing support system for student life.

Bayern were crowned Bundesliga champions on Saturday, but their celebrations may have been somewhat dampened by the dismissal of two backroom staff. Mail Sport examines what transpired.

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice reportedly wants a move to Bayern

Rice has been an essential member of West Ham this season and looks set to leave in search of bigger clubs that can offer him trophy success. Arsenal remain frontrunners to sign him although Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel wants Rice as part of his plans, having reportedly discussed his future with Rice himself.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reported that Rice and Tuchel held a phone conversation and have agreed to intensify their pursuit of each other as Bundesliga stars. Plettenberg notes that Rice appears open to joining Tuchel at Bundesliga giants while both respect each other greatly.

Mikel Arteta has long been an admirer of Declan Rice and is keen on having him join Arsenal this summer as the replacement for Granit Xhaka – yet may find himself locked into a bidding war with Bayern. Arsenal are believed to be willing to pay around PS95m while Bayern are readying a substantial package in an attempt to secure his services.

Tuchel wants Rice

Germany champions Bayern have increased their interest in Declan Rice following interest from Premier League rivals this summer. Thomas Tuchel is thought to have directly reached out to Declan and is hoping that Arsenal don’t beat them to his signature.

West Ham United are expected to make an initial offer for Rice of PS95million, significantly less than what Borussia Dortmund want for him. Rice could serve as an affordable replacement for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

Tuchel has long had an affinity with Rice, and hopes to recruit him back to Germany as part of his defensive leadership alongside more attacking midfielders like Joshua Kimmich. Although two members of their backroom staff left over the weekend, Bayern remain focused on making Rice their priority this summer and are confident they can compete with Premier League spending while finding someone less costly than their PS120million asking price.

Rice not focused on ‘noise’

Bayern Munich are known for their unrelenting focus on winning. Partly this stems from their refusal to accept defeat as simply part of the game; losing is, they maintain, disgraceful. As a result of this unforgiving attitude towards defeats, changes have often come quickly after crushing defeats; not wanting to repeat these errors in transfers, they have pledged their pursuit of Rice aggressively in pursuit.

Rice wants to leave

Rice will likely leave West Ham for a large fee next summer as his contract comes to an end, having turned down offers of renewal. Chelsea, Manchester City and Man United are all interested in signing the 24-year-old forward.

Rice has emerged as the key target for Arsenal this summer, with Mikel Arteta looking to bolster his midfield options ahead of next season. Rice would fit right in alongside Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka at Emirates Stadium.

Though they face competition from across Europe, Arsenal will do all they can to keep Rice at London Stadium despite his immense interest from other clubs. They could offer him a higher salary or increased involvement in Champions League. Should they lose him however, Arsenal are likely to sign either Ruben Neves from Atletico Madrid (AZ), Fiorentina’s Mason Mount from Fiorentina or Brighton’s Moises Caicedo; although ultimately that decision will lie with Rice himself and his family.
