In fact, Sullivan told talkSPORT he will back him during the summer transfer window; some reports indicate a war chest being available; this may depend on whether Declan Rice leaves United, with several clubs believed to have expressed interest.
Transfers
West Ham are yet to make a summer signing, which could prove costly for the club. They sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for PS105 million but are unable to invest that money back into their squad.
Moyes is unhappy with the club’s recruitment team. He prefers British players with Premier League experience while Steidten, a relatively recent arrival, disagrees and prefers shopping abroad for players.
West Ham United are currently in conflict with Manchester United over targets and may miss out on several players due to this discrepancy. They have been linked with Manchester United defender Harry Maguire; however, it appears he will stay put this season at Old Trafford. Additionally, they had attempted to sign Juventus midfielder Scott McTominay and Southampton left back James Ward-Prowse; however negotiations have stalled between all parties involved and Moyes is confident about West Ham’s chances this season despite this setback.

Injury list
West Ham are still missing several key players ahead of this weekend’s match against Leicester City, hoping both Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek can return from injury, with Nayef Aguerd due back from an illness bug that spread through their squad recently.
Ben Johnson may not feature for West Ham against Leicester after being left out of their matchday squad against Everton – sparking speculation he could miss out.
Goalkeeper Fabianski remains uncertain for the trip to King Power Stadium but should return soon after injury has healed. Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that Kurt Zouma may miss Thursday’s UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg against AZ Alkmaar due to a quad injury, although further medical tests will take place over the coming days.
Relegation battle
West Ham chairman David Sullivan remains reluctant to replace Moyes despite their club being embroiled in relegation trouble, and even has disapproved of selling players such as Gianluca Scamacca who has been linked with Leeds United as potential targets.
